Location Information:

Vienna, Austria

Austria flaunts its heritage in exuberant fashion. Known as the city of Mozart, Beethoven, Brahms, and Haydn, Vienna proudly bills
itself as the world’s music capital. To sample the city’s classical music scene, you must choose between three major opera houses,
the Vienna Boys’ Choir, and two great concert halls; Vienna Musikverein and the Vienna Konzerthaus. While in Vienna, view Schönbrunn Palace, Belvedere Palace and maybe even savor a cup of java at the Café Landtmann.

Bratislava, Slovakia
“The pearl of the Danube,” Bratislava is the smallest and most picturesque capital of Central Europe, and borders Hungary in the south and Austria in the west. The town spreads like a fan on both banks of the Danube River. It has a history dating back to antiquity and was at the heart of the Austrio-Hungarian Empire. While less than an hour from Vienna it is a world away with its well preserved historical centre. Here, the pedestrian zone gives you the opportunity to discover this famous history in a few hours. It also played an important role during the prehistoric times; as an important centre for Celtics, Romans, Slavs, Hungarians and Germans. The St. Martin’s Cathedral was used for the coronation of many famous kings and queens. (i.e. Maximilian II, Leopold I or Maria Theresa).

Budapest, Hungary
Budapest’s extraordinary atmosphere can be felt everywhere; from old women selling boxes of raspberries in the heart of downtown to young boys playing soccer in the green foothills of Buda. Uncover the enchanted world of the Ecseri Flea Market and the gothic annexes of the neo-Baroque architecture and delightful folkloric dinner programs during your stay in Budapest. Explore the city by land, sea, or air; get a bird’s eye view of the capital, the Danube and the royal palace from a helicopter tour or float down the Danube on an evening dinner cruise. Must see sights include the Castle Districts’ Vörösmarty tér located on the Váci utca, a historical pedestrian street. This street, with its beautifully preserved architecture, is home to the finest shops of the city. At the end of the street is the Grand Market Hall, a wonderful place to shop for souvenirs. Then, take a tram from Fövám ter and watch the magnificent view of Buda as you pass by Gellért Hill and Elizabeth Bridge. Get off at Chain Bridge and walk across to Clark Ádám tér, named after the Scottish construction manager of the Chain Bridget and the Tunnel. Take the funicular from Clark Ádám tér to the Castle District. The upper stop is next to the President’s Residence. Be sure to visit the Buda Castle building which houses the National Gallery and Mathias Church which is surrounded by the turrets and walkways of the Fishermen’s Bastion before retiring for the evening.

Prague, Czech Republic
“The City of a Thousand Spires.” When viewed from high atop Vysehrad, Prague hugs the hills rising from the river Vitava while rows of steeples stacked on onion domes pierce the sky…a breathtaking site for one and all. Walk the well-worn cobblestones as you explore this city rich in culture and gothic, baroque and renaissance architecture. You will explore the city and experience its grandeur with a journey through Wencesias Square, Charles Bridge, Mala Strana, Prague Castle and Saint Vitus Cathedral…just a few of this enchanting cities fascinating monuments. Plus you will have ample time to customize your time here to visit one of many cafes and sights including the former well preserved historic Jewish quarter.

Konopiste Castle
Dating back to the 14th century, the Konopiste Castle was predominantly used for hunting. This impressive castle is set in the beautiful Czech countryside around Prague. Explore the grounds and view a huge collection of historical weapons, period furniture, paintings and tapestries.

Kutná Hora and the Silver Age
Today, you have the option to explore sleepy, provincial Kutná; the leading city of the country during the silver boom of the 1400’s. Delve into a medieval silver mining city and enjoy the splendor of the many beautiful churches (St. Barbara’s Cathedral), elegant palaces (the Italian Court and the Royal Mint), rich burgess houses (the Stone House) as you venture along. While the silver is long gone, the country-side is filled with many wonders to behold; the biggest Gothic cathedral, Europe’s only Gothic well, and elaborate townhouses…all a testament to the town’s former glory. After descending into a medieval mine, you will also visit a unique “bone” chapel…you won’t want to miss this adventure!
